How To Get To Heaven
Truth #1 - We All Need God
We all have to agree with God that we have fallen short of HIS perfection. It’s called sin. Sin is a disposition of our hearts that naturally goes against the commandments and will of God. We are all sinners by nature. There is no exception. We all need a Savior.
King Solomon knew this…“There is not a single person in all the earth who is always good and never sins” (Ecclesiastes 7:20)
The Apostle Paul knew this…“For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard” (Romans 3:23)
Truth #2 - There Is Only One Way
The way to heaven is not in religion or tradition, but in a Person. The Bible states, it’s by believing in your heart that Jesus the Christ (Christ in Hebrew means Messiah) took your sins upon Himself and paid for them when He died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day. Jesus’ Hebrew name, “Yeshua” means “salvation.”
Jesus said…“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6)
Truth #3 - Heaven Is A Free Gift
A common misconception is that Heaven must be earned. The Bible states that it’s a gift that cannot be earned in any fashion – it must be sincerely received. This free gift of eternal life is offered to everyone.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23)
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, an that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8)
Truth #4 - You can know without a doubt that Heaven will be your Home
“I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life” (I John 5:13)
Truth #5 - The Gift Can Be Yours
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, That whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”(John 3:16)
***TRY THIS***
Read the above verse again, slowly, but this time insert your name in place of the word “whoever”. Then ask yourself, “Do I sincerely believe this in my heart?”
Think…
Of stepping on shore
And finding it Heaven!
Of taking hold of a hand
And finding it God’s Hand!
Of waking up and finding
Yourself HOME!

Since prayer can be an expression of sincere faith, you may express your trust in Jesus as your Savior through words like these:
(Note: It’s not the words, but your trust in Christ alone that saves.)
"I now understand that heaven is a real place. That I have a sin nature, which religion or tradition cannot save me. That heaven is a gift, only possible for me through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus the Christ. I NOW accept that gift with all my heart by trusting Him as my personal Savior."
