Janis was raised in a christian home in Miami, Florida.  She came to know the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age.  She attended Bible College and was active in her local church.  In 1976, she and Peter were married.  Since that time, they had committed themselves to full time christian work.  A year later, they sensed the call and became involved in Jewish ministries.  They have been in this ministry for over 30 years, first in Chicago for 8 years, and then in Southeast Florida for 23 years and continuing.  Janis has assisted her husband in the ministry in many ways, but uniquely through her artistic talents.

The Lord has blessed them with two wonderful children, Sarah and Daniel.  They have been blessed to add a new son-in-law, Abe, to the family.  Sarah and Abe were married in July 2007.
